GRACE NOTES ZINE VOL.2 OUT NOW
We believe that dancing is good for your spiritual well - being.
This zine is a collaborative project between Grace Notes and Hallomai Dance, exploring movement, dance, and spirituality. It consists of conversations with dance artists and movers, whose practice, life, and passions feed into their faith and spirituality.
How does our faith influence what we do within our movement practice?
Where does movement fit within modern worship and, is there room for things to be different?

What is Grace Notes?
Grace Notes works with London based musicians, dancers, and artists to explore faith, spirituality, and worship.
The collective aims to bring communities together through expression and creativity in different social settings.
This celebration and fresh expression of worship reimagines how people of faith and all backgrounds can gather further beyond their immediate community in a joyful way, encouraging reflection, community cohesion, activism, love and Grace.
“Grace Notes is for those who feel the desire to express their spirituality through their art and for those who wish to
explore new ways that they can connect with their faith.”
PREVIOUS RESIDENCIES
THE ROYAL FOUNDATION OF ST. KATHERINE, LIMEHOUSE
From March to July 2021, Grace Notes used the Chapel at The Royal Foundation of St Katherine’s, Limehouse and opened this up to a congregation fortnightly as part of their Sunday service.
Here we explored the use of poetry, spoken word, contemporary dance, improvised music and scripture to host hour long services. We are proud to say that this was open to all - having artists and members of the congregation from different religious, racial and cultural backgrounds.
We continue to collaborate and hold a thriving creative relationship with St. Katherine’s.
ST. STEPHEN WALBROOK, CITY OF LONDON
We have been in collaboration with St. Stephen Walbrook since late 2022.
Rush Hour Jazz is part of SSW’s ministry of wellbeing, bringing a smile to the Square Mile! Inviting people into the Church, on their way home from their local commute. It has been great to provide some music for this wonderful event.
A Fresh Expression of Evensong:
It has been an honour to re-create the ancient office of Evening Prayer with a contemporary twist. With mellow improvised sounds, mixed with reflective prayer and readings from scripture.
